Three families — not interchangeable.
ICD-10-CM — diagnoses. Common for both billers (literacy) and coders (assignment).
CPT — procedures/services (AMA). Critical for many coding exams; billers still need familiarity for claim review.
HCPCS Level II — supplies, drugs, and services outside CPT. Confirm whether your exam window expects a current book.
